Deon Newman joined HERE Technologies in January 2024 to lead the Asia Pacific business. He is based out of Singapore.<\/p>\n
Deon is an industry leader with 32 years of global and regional experience as a brand, product, sales and marketing executive at IBM, during which he has actively participated and led multiple transformations and technological advancements. In his most recent role as Chief Marketing Officer of IBM Cloud and Systems globally,\u202fDeon developed IBM\u2019s Hybrid Cloud positioning and led the global marketing for public and private cloud offerings. He was a senior member of the executive leadership team that successfully launched and grew the IBM Watson IoT business unit to $1B+ in revenue in the first two years.\u202fPrior to this, he was CMO and VP Strategy of IBM Asia Pacific, where he led marketing for the region and the development and execution of sub-regional go-to-market strategy and investment plans to drive growth.<\/p>\n
Deon has a strong track record leading global sales and marketing organizations and driving sustainable business growth in software, infrastructure and service lines, as well as creating profitable product lines, building successful teams, managing P&L, and capturing market share.<\/p>\n
Deon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and a Postgraduate Degree in Entrepreneurship from Swinburne University of Technology.<\/p>\n
