Nate Smith is a Group Product Manager at Gojek, and leads the company’s mapping platform team, Cartography. He has led the team to build more accurate, localized, and customized ETA, routing, and location selection products, spanning food, transport and logistics.

Nate has over 12 years of expertise in building mapping products in emerging markets across Africa and Asia. His experience has focused on building solutions for humanitarian response and solving societal challenges with open source and open data. He has rich experience in OpenStreetMap and satellite imagery. 

Before Gojek, Nate was the Director of Technology for the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. During this time he managed the development of multiple products that increased mapping efficiency, grew contributors by 5x, and helped map areas of the world that are home to over 500 million people. He has also held product, strategy, and data roles at companies such as Mapbox and Development Seed.
